2. Reflection:
I used Tinkercad to create my character as a beginner. This was only my second time using it, after first trying it once in class. For this assignment, I decided to create a character that represents my identity. I wanted to make a fairy figure using lunar and star shapes because, to me, those symbols connect to justice, faith, and the values I try to hold on to in my life.
When I was thinking about my design, I reflected on what I believe is right, such as faithfulness and honesty with myself and the people around me. I tried to think about what kinds of symbols could represent those ideas in a simple visual way using the tools available in Tinkercad. I mostly worked by combining basic shapes to build the image I had in mind. I also chose peacock blue and purple tones to give the character a more dreamy feeling.
Even though the final outcome does not look exactly like what I originally imagined, it was really rewarding. It took a lot of effort to adjust the shapes, arrange the parts, and make the character feel balanced, so it was satisfying to finally see it come together. I also noticed that Tinkercad can be a very useful tool for younger students, especially in grades 3 to 5, because it allows them to create things like houses, characters, or imaginative worlds in an approachable way. The shape library is especially helpful because students with no prior experience in 3D modeling can still begin easily (I used tree shapes for my background, too). If I make another project in Tinkercad, I would like to create a twin character for this one. I think that would be a fun way to continue developing the story and identity behind this design.
