For Series 2, I intentionally changed all the materials. None of them is a "season item," but they still remind me of a season. Bead bracelets and teddy bear pendants feel like summer because I only wear them then. A crocheted keychain from a student brings back a specific time in my teaching life. Crinkly paper makes me think of cold, dry winter air. A tea bag feels like fall, and a Hokkaido chocolate snack instantly reminds me of snowy winter. A bookmark with a dried flower feels like spring.
Technically, I tested how the scanner captures detail and what happens when I gently shake or shift objects during the scan. I repeated the same setup over 20 times, and the results were never identical. Some scans stretched and blurred in a way that felt like an abstract painting. I also like that scanography can produce a strong result in a short class period, which feels very classroom-friendly. It makes me want to try a classroom version: a familiar theme (like seasons or friends, family), but with objects that carry personal meaning for each student.
